As noted on the invitation, the attire for the evening is black-tie-optional.
Black-tie-optional allows guests the choice of traditional black-tie attire (an evening gown or a tuxedo), while also welcoming formal eveningwear such as a dark suit or long, formal dress. Please note, sneakers are not permitted.
The University Club is one of the last places in Manhattan to support a time-honored dress code policy. If you are staying at the Club, we kindly ask that you review their House Rules and dress code guidelines for all public areas of the Club House.
As noted previously, The University Club is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, as such there is plenty to do between 4:30PM-6:00PM. Below are a few of our favorite nearby options.
Kris' favorite: A four-block walk south brings you to several iconic New York City landmarks, including Radio City Musical Hall, Rockefeller Center, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Kim’s favorite: Fifth Avenue shopping!
Our shared favorite: enjoy a signature cocktail at the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis. We recommend their iconic “Red Snapper” also known as a Bloody Mary, where the miracle elixir was concocted nearly 100 years ago.
As noted on the Travel tab, valet parking services are not available. The University Club maintains an agreement with a parking garage located one block from the club.
